We see alot of this in our practice at Hadl Clinical Bodywork. Massaging the Masseter is not as complicated as one would think. The image below show all of the trigger point area's to help release this muscle and help your TMJ feel better.

HOW TO READ A TRIGGER POINT CHART
There are 2 components to reading this chart.
The X indicates where you press your finger. It's that simple. Press your finger into one of the X's in the picture. How it feels to you indicates whether it is an active trigger point.
The red area's indicates both where you are having pain and corresponding trigger point therapy releases that area.
When you press the X, if you do not feel radiating pain and just feel pressure, that is not an active trigger point and you must move on to the next.
